What I just restocked my "medicine cabinet" with.....

You will see the places I buy from underlined in bold with the extract and/or supplies listed below that.  You will also see the list price plus the percentage I got off each product.  I always watch sales or request a sale calendar so I know when to purchase at the best price.

Also, at times there are other things I use coupled with these, but for the most part this is the nuts and bolts of what we do as of recent.   Learning truly is continual.  I am constantly trying new things figuring out what works best for each child, etc.  There are other posts on the blog that describe how we treat poison ivy, mastitis, and other infections on the section entitled alternative healthcare.

I took a great online class entitled Healthy All Year by Dr. Aviva Romm, MD.  Highly recommend it. Here in the class she details how to prevent and treat illnesses and teaches one how to make herbal medicine.  Fascinating!

I am so appreciative of pediatricians and doctors, but my hope is to only see them once a year at our annual well visits.  We have avoided traditional sick visits and unnecessary antibiotics for 5.5 years now thanks to natural medicine.

3) Trilight Herbs

Lungs Plus
I buy largest bottle for $119.95 plus 20% off.
"Contains herbs traditionally used during times of deep respiratory tract infections.  Acting with expectorant and demulcent properties, these herbs may also expel mucus and soothe irritated throat and lungs" (their website).  Reviews are excellent and a great teacher and speak to all the ways it has been used: hacking coughs, colds, croup, RSV, walking pneumonia, and even whooping cough.
Scout Out
I buy largest bottle for $149.95 plus 20% off coupon code.
Referred to as the antibiotic tonic and many think of it as the antibiotic alternative.  "This powerful formula contains many herbs that strongly support the immune system"  (their website).  This formula I use often in combination with others depending on the ailment.   The reviews are such a teacher and helpful to see what others paired with it.
Yummy Yarrow
I buy the largest bottle for $119.95 plus 20% off coupon code.
"This fever remedy combines herbs used to promote perspiration, open bowels, reduce inflammation and settle the stomach.  If you or your child has a fever or upset stomach- this is the formula to have on hand.  Yummy Yarrow also helps with allergies, calms the stomach and then promotes restful sleep"  (their website).  I let fevers do their thing and fight off illness, but if ever too high, I use in place of Tylenol.   Check out the reviews as they are great teachers and show all the ways used.
Hear No Evil
Our kids rarely if ever have ear troubles , so I bought only one small bottle just in case for $8.95 plus 20% off.
Read the reviews and see site for how used.
Soothing Salve
I bought one small bottle for $8.95 plus 20% off coupon code.
This is wonderful for for cuts, rashes, ringworm, cold sores, diaper rash, sun burn, razor burn, ulcers, canker sores, etc.  Check out the reviews and website for all the ways used.
Lympha Rub
I bought four bottles for $8.95  each plus 20% off coupon code.
"Traditionally used for infections including tonsillitis, strep throat, mumps, sinus infections, earache, sore muscles, and much more" (their website).  Rub this essential oil remedy on neck and glands on neck and also put a drop in mouth when you feel you are coming down with something or ill.  Check out the reviews and read all the way used!

*If a child has a cold with a cough depending on severity, I may use Lungs Plus along with Lympha Rub and Scout Out or I may just use Lungs Plus.  At the end of a cold, when a child has that left over dry nagging cough, the homemade cough syrup or the Lungs Plus is helpful.  I switch things up depending on need and how child responds, etc.
